BBQ Cheeseburger Garlic Toast

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Course: Dinner
Cuisine: American
Keyword: BBQ Cheeseburger Garlic Toast
Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Garlic Toast 8 count
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp each of salt, pepper, ground mustard
  • 1 tsp each of onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup Buffalo Wild Wings Honey BBQ sauce
  • Shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • 6 pieces bacon cooked & crumbled
  • Crispy fried onions

Instructions

  • If you need to cook bacon for this recipe, cook your bacon however you like! I like to place it on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and bake it in the oven at 400 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes. Drain it well and crumble it once fully cooked.
  • Cook a box of garlic toast following the directions on the box. I like to cook it just a little bit longer than the directions call for. This helps the garlic toast be nice and crispy.
  • Heat a skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet with a chopped onion. Season with salt, pepper, ground mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Once the beef is fully cooked, drain any extra grease. Add the minced garlic and BBQ sauce. Stir well.
  • Use a spoon to push down on each piece of garlic toast. Add the ground beef mixture on top of garlic bread.
  • Next, add shredded cheese on top, a little bit more BBQ sauce, crumbled bacon, and some crispy fried onions.
  • Put the BBQ Cheeseburger Garlic Toasts back in the oven for just a couple of minutes to melt the cheese. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Cooking the garlic bread just a little bit longer than the directions call for helps the garlic bread get nice and crispy.
  • I used freshly Colby jack cheese for this recipe, but you could really use any cheese you have.
  • This makes 8 BBQ Cheeseburger Garlic Toasts.
  • We usually have leftover bacon from breakfast at my house, but bacon bits would work well too!
  • If you need to cook bacon for this recipe, my favorite way is to bake it in the oven at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes. Use parchment paper for easy clean up!
  • I like to use BWW Honey BBQ Sauce for this recipe, but any brand of barbecue sauce will work.
