Creamy Sausage and Tortellini Skillet

This is a simple one-pan tortellini that is totally doable on a weeknight. It's also creamy and delicious and doesn't take a lot of time to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of Italian sausage
  • 1 19 oz package of cheese tortellini frozen
  • 3 TBSP of butter
  • 1 TBSP of minced garlic
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 8 oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 3 TBSP of tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup of shredded Parmesan cheese
  • a couple of handfuls of fresh spinach
  • 1 tsp of Italian seasoning
  • salt pepper, and garlic powder

Instructions

  • brown Italian sausage in a pan and remove it
  • add butter, spinach, minced garlic, heavy cream, tomato sauce, tomato paste, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning, and season to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  • mix everything together well and let simmer
  • add cheese tortellini to the pan (still frozen), stir well, cover with a lid, and let cook for about 5 minutes until pasta is tender
  • add sausage to pasta and serve
  • I like topping it with more Parmesan cheese and some dried parsley!
