Equipment

  • 1 Crockpot

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs Sirloin Tip Roast (Chuck Roast, stew meat, or rump roast would also work)
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 TBSP minced garlic
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 TBSP Worcestershire

Instructions

  • Season meat with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sear in a skillet over medium high heat with a little bit of butter or oil in small batches. Add meat to a crockpot.
  • Combine beef broth with 1 onion soup mix, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce in skillet and let simmer. Make sure to scrape all the bits off the bottom of the skillet.
  • Pour beef broth/seasoning mixture over the meat in the slow cooker. Cook on low for 6 hours.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

To make beef gravy from the juices on the crockpot I combined 2 tbsp of butter and 2 tbsp of flour in a pan over medium heat. Stir together until the flour is combined with the butter and it starts to thicken. Cook for a couple of minutes and pour in the juice (about 1 1/2 cups) from the crockpot into the pan. Stir until it thickens and is gravy!
