Green Beans and Potatoes

Green Beans and Potatoes are an easy and delicious side dish!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of green beans fresh, frozen, or canned all work
  • 1 lb baby potatoes sliced in halves
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 TBSP of minced garlic
  • 6 strips bacon
  • 1 TBSP of sugar
  • 1 tsp of pepper
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning
  • 2 cups of chicken broth

Instructions

  • Chop bacon into small pieces and cook in a skillet over medium high heat. Once bacon is cooked add diced onion and chopped baby potatoes. Cook until onions have softened.
  • Add minced garlic, chicken broth, pepper, sugar, steak seasoning, and green beans (drained if using canned). Bring to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and cover with a lid.
  • Let simmer for about 25 minutes or until the potatoes are fork tender. Remove the lid and stir. If you let the green beans sit for a little bit uncovered over low heat the liquid usually reduces.
  • Season to taste with more steak seasoning or salt and pepper if needed.

Notes

If using fresh green beans they may need to cook a little bit longer depending on how you like them cooked.
