Homemade McRibs are easy and delicious to make at home with all of the nostalgic flavors!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Course: Dinner
Cuisine: American
Keyword: Homemade Copycat McRib
Servings: 6 people

Ingredients

McRib

  • 2 lb ground pork
  • BBQ Rub Seasoning
  • 1 onion sliced
  • Dill pickles
  • Seeded Hoagie Rolls

Sauce

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1 tsp each onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Form the ground pork into McRib shaped patties. Use a spatula to add horizontal lines to each one. Season them well with BBQ seasoning. I don't use exact measurements for the BBQ seasoning, I just make sure they are well seasoned.
  • Bake on a sheet pan with a wire rack to help the grease drain away from the patties. Bake in the oven at 400 degrees F for about 20 minutes, or until the meat reaches an internal temperature of at least 160 degrees F.
  • While the patties are in the oven, make your homemade sauce. In a pan, combine ketchup, water, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and pepper.
  • Stir the sauce together well and heat over medium heat until the sauce is well combined and starting to thicken. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  • Brush the homemade sauce over the McRibs and place them back in the oven for just a couple of minutes. Build sandwiches on toasted buns with sliced onion and dill pickles. Enjoy!

Notes

2 lbs of ground pork makes 6 or 7 McRib patties depending on how thick you make them.
