One Pan Cheeseburger Mac

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Course: Dinner
Cuisine: American
Keyword: One Pan Cheeseburger Mac
Servings: 6 people

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1/2 tsp each of salt, pepper, ground mustard
  • 1 tsp each of onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tbsp dill pickle juice
  • 2 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 3 cups of beef broth
  • 8 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 8 oz shredded Colby Jack cheese
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 green onions chopped

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown 1 lb of ground beef with chopped onion. Season with salt, pepper, ground mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Once the beef is fully cooked, drain any extra grease from the meat.
  • Next, add the minced garlic, ketchup, mustard, and pickle juice. Stir well. Add the uncooked pasta, beef broth, and the can of tomato sauce to the skillet.
  • Bring to a quick boil then turn the heat down to low. Cover with a lid and cook for about 10-15 minutes stirring once or twice to keep the pasta from sticking to the bottom of the skillet.
  • Once the pasta is cooked add the shredded cheese and milk. Stir everything together well and top with the chopped green onions. Enjoy! Let me know if you try it out!

Notes

  • I like shredding the cheese from a block of Colby Jack cheese for a better melting consistency.
  • I like using the blend of seasonings for cheeseburger flavored dishes, but you could use any of your favorite burger seasonings instead of the homemade blend.
  • Topping this dish with some fresh chopped green onions gives the dish some freshness and even more onion flavor.
  • The ketchup, mustard, and dill pickle juice gives this the cheeseburger flavor. Be sure to use dill pickle juice! I'm not sure how great sweet pickle juice would be in this recipe. My favorite pickles are the Grillo's pickles, but you can use your favorite brand or whatever you already keep stocked in your refrigerator.
