Easy Green Bean Recipe
This Green Bean Recipe is my favorite!
This easy green bean recipe is my absolute favorite way to make them for my family! Once you try this recipe, you won’t go back to your old way of making green beans! The butter, seasonings and bacon really set this recipe apart from others. These green beans make a delicious side for so many different meals! My whole family loves this recipe and my kids even love it! This recipe tastes very similar to your favorite steakhouseโs green beans!
To make these easy and delicious green beans, start by cutting 4 strips of bacon into small pieces and placing them into a skillet. Cook the bacon on medium heat until done. Next, dice 1 onion and add this to the skillet and cook in the bacon fat until the onions are translucent. I then added 4 tablespoons of butter, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of pepper, and a dash of steak seasoning to the skillet. Add 4 cups of green beans to the skillet. If using canned green beans, make sure you drain each can before adding them. Next, pour in 2 cups of chicken broth and reduce heat to a simmer. Cover with a lid and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Once the green beans are finished simmering, they are ready to serve! Scoop a heaping pile onto your plate or in a bowl and enjoy! These green beans will have you coming back for seconds.

Recipe sounds delicious. Iโm going to try tonight with Salmon Wellington. I think Iโll substitute fresh honey for the sugar
I have tried both and prefer the brown sugar but they are good either way. Great recipe.
Hey Luke, would you suggest regular granulated sugar, or brown sugar?
I use regular granulated sugar.
What is steak seasoning?
I used Lawry’s seasoning (as steak seasoning). They were delicious!
Montreal Steak Seasoning. A little goes a long way. I make my own but you can buy it in the spice aisle
I would like to know what steak seasoning is and what brand please.
I usually use McCormick brand Montreal Steak Seasoning. Hope that helps!
Brenda, from a reader who just came across this website: I used A-1 steak sauce, usually found in the section of a grocery store where they have barbecue sauce and other similar types of bottled sauces. It was great. Other brands would likely taste just as good. The Montreal Steak seasoning someone mentioned would be good too, often found on the aisle with spices and dry seasonings.
I am going to try this. It sounds like the way my sister in law use to make.
This is the only way I make my beans very delicious,, can’t get enough of them.
Today I am going to try them in crock pot to simmer. Can’t wait to eat them.
Did making them in crock pot work?
Simply perfect!! Just the recipe I was looking for! Thank you so much for sharing it! My family loved it!

Want to make this recipe for Easter. How many servings will 4 cups of green beans make?
I would say 6-8 servings!
I made the mistake of making these for a family gathering once. Now I am assigned to to bring them to every family event. When I asked my 12 year old niece what she wanted for her birthday, she said she wanted me to make these green beans.
I made .this today to take for Easter dinner and everyone absolutely loved it. I didn’t have any steak seasoning, but that didn’t seem to matter
Happy to hear that!
This recipe is a keeper! Made it for a family gathering on Easter (using canned green beans and A-1 steak sauce for the steak seasoning) and they we’re delicious.
Loved this recipe! Made it twice in 2 weeks. I grabbed some A1 Sauce the first time instead of the dry steak seasoning (by accident) and it gave it a kick that we really liked!
Used fresh green beans and everything else as suggested.
Thank you..our favorite green bean recipe now!
Glad you liked it!
