Easy Chicken Alfredo Tortellini
Chicken Alfredo Tortellini is an easy weeknight dinner recipe using jarred Alfredo, frozen tortellini, shredded cheese, and bacon! This is one of those dinners we make when I don’t feel like cooking, but also want to avoid hitting up a drive thru! This recipe is easy and one the whole family likes!
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 19 oz bag frozen tortellini
- 15 oz jar Alfredo sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 pieces of bacon
- dried parsley
Prep Ingredients
Start by gathering all ingredients needed for this recipe. I also go ahead and make the bacon before I start anything else.
I prefer baking bacon in the oven at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. You can make your bacon however you prefer though!
Once bacon is cooked drain the grease on some paper towels and give the bacon a rough chop.
Next, cut 1 lb of chicken into small cubes and set aside. I also like to go ahead and get a pot of water boiling for the tortellini.
Make Chicken Alfredo Tortellini
To make the chicken Alfredo tortellini, Add 2 tbsp of butter to a skillet over medium high heat.
Once the butter is melted, add the chicken to the skillet. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, and Italian seasoning.
Cook the chicken until it is cooked through and golden brown. Once the chicken is cooked add 1 tbsp of minced garlic and stir well. Turn the heat off the stove and let it sit.
Once the water has boiled add the frozen tortellini and cook according to the directions on the package.
Once the tortellini is nice and tender, drain the water and add the cooked tortellini to the skillet of cooked chicken.
After combining the cooked chicken and tortellini add a 15 oz jar of Alfredo sauce. My favorite jarred Alfredo sauce is Rao’s, but you can use any jarred sauce or even make a homemade sauce if you’d rather not use jarred.
Stir the chicken, tortellini, and Alfredo sauce together well. Top with about 1 1/2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese and chopped bacon.
Next, pop the skillet in the oven under broil for just a couple of minutes to melt the cheese. If you don’t have an oven safe skillet you can also put it back on the stove on low and cover it with a lid until the cheese melts.
Serve Chicken Alfredo Tortellini
Once the cheese is melted it’s time to eat! Top the dish with dried parsley. I served this easy pasta dish with a side salad. Any vegetable would go great with this though.
