Make Honey BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
There isn’t a lot of prep work with this recipe, which is one of the reasons I love it! Start by getting some bacon cooking. I prefer to bake bacon in the oven on a sheet pan at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Line the pan with parchment paper for easy clean up!
Next, slice two chicken breasts in half lengthwise to make them thinner. Season both sides of the chicken with some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
Once the chicken is seasoned, heat a skillet over medium high heat and melt 2 tbsp of butter.
Quickly sear the chicken breasts in the hot skillet for just a couple of minutes per side. This won’t fully cook the chicken.
Remove the skillet from the heat and brush on some of the BBQ sauce to the tops of the chicken.
Next, put the chicken in the oven at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
While the chicken is cooking in the oven, melt 1 tbsp of butter in a skillet over medium heat and toast the buns until they are golden brown.
Once the chicken is cooked, add some sliced cheddar cheese and put back in the oven for just a few minutes if needed to melt the cheese.
Serve Honey BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
Now it’s time to build the sandwiches! I like to top the chicken sandwiches with some crispy bacon, lettuce, and some sliced red onion.
These are great served with some homemade potato wedges, fries, or a salad!
Since these sandwiches are pretty versatile, they can be made with a different kind of sauce if you want to switch it up from the BBQ sauce! These Garlic Parmesan Chicken Sandwiches won’t disappoint if you are fan of the Garlic Parmesan sauce!
