Ingredients
- 1 lb bacon
- 1 1/2 pounds Beef Little Smokies
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Strawberry’s BBQ Rub
Make Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies
Start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees and spraying a baking dish with cooking spray.
Next, cut one pound of bacon into three even sections. Wrap a piece of bacon around a little smoky and repeat until all are wrapped.
After wrapping all the smokies, place all the bacon wrapped little smokies in 1-2 baking dishes. I used a 9×13 baking dish and a smaller baking dish.
After that, sprinkle 2/3 cup of brown sugar and 1 tbsp of Strawberry’s BBQ Rub over the bacon wrapped smokies.
My favorite BBQ Rub is Strawberry’s Grand Champion. Check it on on amazon (this is my amazon affiliate/commission-able link). You can use any BBQ Rub you like or already have in your spice cabinet!
Next, place the bacon wrapped smokies in the oven for about 40-45 minutes. The tops will get crispy and the bottoms of the little smokies stay softer.
Serve Bacon Wrapped Little Smokies
Once the bacon is crispy, it’s time to eat! I made these with some of my favorite Cranberry Meatballs and Spinach and Artichoke Dip for an appetizer night.
Tips and Frequently Asked Questions
- I prefer the all beef Little Smokies, but you can use the pork variety if you prefer those.
- I would not use thick cut bacon, as it takes longer to cook and doesn’t turn out as crispy as the regular cut bacon.
- I used my favorite BBQ Rub called Strawberry’s, but any BBQ rub will work for this recipe.
- If you prefer to add a toothpick you can add one to each little smoky after wrapping it in bacon.

What is the BBQ rub give me a recipe please
I use one called Strawberry’s Grand Champion BBQ seasoning. It is local to me, but you can buy it on amazon!
Out of this world!! My daugther who hates hotdogs can’t get enough of them, along with her 10 and 5 year old boys!! They asked me for them everytime they come over!!! For BBQ Seasoning I use either Kinders Buttery steak house or my favorite caramelized onion butter!!!
Happy to hear that!
