Meatball Slider Bites
Meatball Slider Bites are easy to make and delicious! This is a great appetizer or dinner recipe for any meatball lover! You can use frozen store bought meatballs or make homemade meatballs. I like to make homemade meatballs and keep them in the freezer for easy recipes like this one.
Ingredients
- 12 pack King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- 12 (fully cooked) meatballs
- 1/2 jar (12 oz) marinara sauce
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp dried parsley and garlic powder
- Parmesan cheese
Prep Meatball Slider Bites
First start with heating fully cooked meatballs in a pan with your favorite marinara sauce. I like to make homemade meatballs and keep them in the freezer, but you can use any meatballs you like!
As for the marinara, I’ve really been liking Rao’s Homemade Marinara lately because it’s made with minimal ingredients, but you can use any marinara sauce your family likes!
Heat 12 meatballs in a pan with marinara sauce over medium heat until they are nice and hot.
If your meatballs are frozen this will obviously take a little bit longer but will work just the same!
While the meatballs are heating up, use a knife to cut holes in the tops of the King’s Hawaiian Rolls. I made a little square with the knife and pulled out the center of the roll.
You can discard the center of the rolls or snack on it while cooking like I did!
The last step in prepping the Meatball Slider Bites is melting 3 tbsp of butter and mixing it together with some dried parsley and garlic powder.
Mix the melted butter and seasoning together well.
Assemble Meatball Slider Bites
To assemble the meatball slider bites, start by using a basting brush to brush the melted butter/seasoning mixture all over the tops and insides of the slider buns.
Next, add a small pinch of shredded mozzarella cheese inside each of the holes in the rolls.
Top each hole with a meatball and top them all with a little bit more shredded mozzarella cheese.
These will bake in the oven at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is nice and melted!
Serve Meatball Slider Bites
Now that the cheese is melted, remove them from the oven. Top the meatballs with shredded Parmesan cheese and serve! If these are for dinner they are perfect with a salad or some french fries!
I served them with some extra marinara on the side for dipping!

I am going to try this recipe!
Easy and delicious! A big hit.
Made six of these for the two of us. Had with restaurant spaghetti and meat sauce left overs. Made a wonderful meal. The meatball sliders were delicious and we will serve these again in the future. May even use to take to potluck. Fast to put together and since I had the oven preheated it did not take ten minutes to melt the cheese.
I’m excited to be making these & taking to put church outing to hav lunch with the homeless close to our area. I know they’re gonna luv something warm & tasty. I’ll be sharing for future KC Chiefs games this fall.😋
These look wonderful, I have a meeting at my house and I will serve these. Will let you know how they came out.
I just made these for the first time and they are good but there are couple things I did differently. First, I cut the meatballs in 1/2 because the rolls are small and when you bake the rolls before adding the sauce and meatballs definitely keep an eye on them because they can burn. Other than that it’s an easy recipe
This is a great recipe for a party. Can they be made ahead and frozen?
Can you freeze these?
I made these tonight, and they turned out great! I used a shot glass to press the middle of the rolls a bit, and they held the ingredients perfect. This is a very quick and easy week night dinner.
I am making this recipe right now. I’m sure I can figure something out, but I’m just curious where the Parmesan cheese I’m assuming I’ll sprinkle it on top after they’re baked but when you gave instructions for the recipe, it doesn’t mention any it says Parmesan on the ingredients list, but it doesn’t give instructions whether you put it on with the mozzarella or after baking, just curious thank you other than that sounds delicious. I’m sure it will be good.
Yes, I sprinkled it over the top of the Meatball Slider Bites after they came out of the oven. I have updated the recipe card. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Hope the recipe still worked out for you!
