Making Nutella Sea Salt Fudge

When it comes to party desserts, you can never go wrong with chocolate.  But if you want to take your dessert game to the next level, try bringing a batch of Nutella fudge to your next gathering.  This creamy, chocolatey treat is sure to please everyone’s sweet tooth and is incredibly easy to make.

One of the best things about Nutella fudge is how simple the recipe is.  All you need is one cup of Nutella, sweetened condensed milk, butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt, and chocolate chips.  From there, you can customize the fudge to your liking by adding other flavors or toppings.  This means you can make a batch of Nutella fudge that perfectly suits the occasion, whether it’s a holiday party, birthday celebration, or casual get-together.

To start take the 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 cup of bittersweet chocolate chips, 1 cup of Nutella, and 3 tablespoons of butter and add them to a glass bowl.  Stir everything together well until incorporated.  Here is the best part of this recipe.  Microwave for 15 to 20 seconds and stir so it does burn.  Keep doing this every 15 to 20 seconds until everything is smooth and starts to thicken (around 3 minutes).

You could also use a double boiler on the stove if you would prefer that method.  A double boiler is a method used to melt chocolate, which consists of two stacked pans. The lower pan is filled with water and the upper pan holds the chocolate.  The steam from the simmering water heats the chocolate slowly and gently, preventing it from burning.  But honestly, I have never had any bad luck with the microwave as long as stir every 15 to 20 seconds.

At this point, you can get creative and add in other flavors or toppings.  Some options include chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, sea salt, or sprinkles.  You can also experiment with different extract flavors, like almond or peppermint, to give your fudge a unique twist.

Once you’ve added in any additional ingredients, pour the fudge into a greased 8×9 inch baking dish with parchment paper, and smooth it out with a spatula.  If you’re adding toppings, like chopped nuts or sea salt, sprinkle them over the top of the fudge now.

Now it’s time to let the fudge chill in the refrigerator.  Let it set for at least 2 to 3 hours, or until it’s firm to the touch.  Once it’s ready, you can cut it into bite-sized squares and serve it on a platter for your party guests to enjoy.

One of the great things about Nutella fudge is how versatile it is.  You can customize it to suit any occasion or theme by swapping out different toppings or adding in new flavors.  For example, if you’re bringing the fudge to a holiday party, try adding some red and green sprinkles to give it a festive touch.  Or, for a summer barbecue, add some crushed graham crackers and toasted marshmallows to create a s’mores fudge.

Another great thing about Nutella fudge is that it’s easy to make in advance.  You can whip up a batch a day or two before your party and store it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve.  This makes it a great option for when you are busy and don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen on the day of the event.

When you bring Nutella fudge to a party, you’re sure to be the hit of the dessert table.  Not only is it delicious, but it’s also a crowd-pleaser that everyone will love.  Plus, the fact that it’s easy to customize means you can make a batch that perfectly suits the occasion.   Another great thing about Nutella fudge is that it’s easy to transport.  Simply cut it into squares and store it in an airtight container or plastic wrap until you’re ready to bring it to the party.  You can also add some decorative touches, like tying a ribbon around the container or placing the fudge on a festive platter.

Nutella fudge is a delicious dessert that is hard to resist.  It’s a sweet and creamy treat that combines the rich and indulgent texture of fudge with the smooth and nutty flavor of Nutella.  Nutella fudge is easy to make, incredibly versatile, and always a crowd-pleaser.  Whether you’re looking for a sweet treat to enjoy on your own or a dessert to serve at your next party, Nutella fudge is a delicious choice.

It’s so delicious, one if my new favorites. So, the first time, I accidentally grabbed the almond extract instead of vanilla.
The second time, I just melted it over the stove and it was much quicker than microwaving and stirring in intervals. I used only the vanilla the second time. Now what I want to tell you is that bith are devious, but I actually preferred it with the almond extract l, and you can even throw in vanilla as well. But it gave it a really nice flavour!

It goes really nice with wine too mmm!
But seriously, do try it with almond extract, you won’t regret 🙂

  3. Why bittersweet chocolate chips? I’m not a fan of dark chocolate so I’m curious what these do to the taste.

  4. In the video you say a jar but the recipe says 1 cup Nutella, which is it? Even the smallest jar has more than one cup I think.

      1. Our family loves this recipe! We’ve recently started to play with it a little by adding reeces pieces (not the cups) on it and it is such a tasty addition to this already amazing treat!

Absolutely perfect! It’s super easy, sets up well, not too sugary, not too bitter. Just creamy deliciousness.

I made this for the first time several months ago when my husband found the recipe on Facebook. The only problem I had was it became very greasy at the top. I’m not sure if it is because of the butter I used? 🤔 I am attempting batch #2 but making it with white Nutella (it’s an off brand I found in the Bosnian section of the grocery store) and I’m trying a different butter. We will see the results and I will be sure to come back to let you know how it worked out!
