Once the weather is nice, we’re cooking outside! This was a super easy and delicious dinner recipe I made out on my flat top griddle. It could easily be made inside on the stove, though.
Steak, zucchini, onions, tomatoes, cheese tortellini, and some Parmesan Garlic sauce are the ingredients used to make this easy griddle recipe.

Ingredients
- 2 strip steaks
- Olive Oil or Avocado oil
- 1 sliced onion
- 1 large zucchini
- 10 oz grape tomatoes
- 19 oz bag frozen cheese tortellini + water
- Shredded Parmesan cheese
- Buffalo Wild Wing’s Parmesan Garlic sauce
- Heath Rile’s Garlic Butter Seasoning
Make Steak, Veggies, and Tortellini
This is an easy recipe because there isn’t much prep work. I used two strip steaks and cut them into cubes.
Next, slice an onion and cut one large zucchini into smaller pieces.
Heat a griddle over medium heat. Add 1 tbsp of olive oil or avocado oil. Add all of the veggies to the griddle and season with some Heath Riles Garlic Butter Seasoning.
If you don’t have this seasoning, I would just use some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Let the veggies cook down for a few minutes, then add steak to the griddle and season with the same seasoning.
Finally, add one bag of frozen tortellini to the griddle and pour some water on the tortellini. I didn’t measure the water, but I probably used 1/4-1/2 cup. The water will help steam the tortellini and make sure they get nice and tender.
Cover the tortellini with a griddle dome and let cook for 3-5 minutes or until the tortellini is tender and cooked.
Once the tortellini is cooked, quickly stir in some Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic sauce and then remove the tortellini from the griddle. If you aren’t a fan of the Parmesan Garlic sauce you could use some Italian dressing instead!
Stir veggies and steak around until both are cooked to your liking.
Serve Garlic Parmesan Steak Tortellini
Once the tortellini, steak, and veggies are all cooked to your liking place them on a serving tray or on a sheet pan and top with shredded Parmesan cheese and enjoy!
Tips and Frequently Asked Questions
- If you don’t have the Heath Rile’s Garlic Butter Seasoning, you can season the steak and veggies with some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Or, any other seasonings you like!
- I used just a little drizzle of the Parmesan Garlic sauce on the cheese tortellini. If you aren’t a fan of that sauce, you could swap it out with some Italian dressing instead.
- I used zucchini, grape tomatoes, and sliced onion in this recipe but you could really use any vegetables you like!
- While I love this as a griddle recipe, it could also be made inside on the stove in a couple of skillets. For the cheese tortellini I would just boil it following directions on the bag.
- I used a bag of frozen cheese tortellini, but the refrigerated tortellini would also work with this recipe.

Great recipe! My Family loved this, and we will definitely make it again. Would it be possible to give a more specific amount or weight for the steak rather than “2 strip steaks”? I thought I was doing good by cooking 3 strip steaks but it wasn’t enough. Next time we will double the amount to get a better ratio with the other ingredients.
Is there a way to make this without a griddle?
Amazing. My family loved it! We used more sauce than called for since everyone liked the sauce really well and paired this dish with a garden salad for a very filling meal! Will be making again for sure.
You could boil the tortellini separate and just sauté the steak and veggies in 2 pans with said seasonings.
This was phenomenal. I made this on a skillet and air fryer – the seasoning is BOMB!
