Air Fryer Steak Fajitas
Air Fryer Steak Fajitas are an easy and delicious dinner recipe that can be on the table in less than 30 minutes!
My family loves fajitas and this recipe is easy to prep ahead of time so all that’s left to do when you get home from work is throw it all in the air fryer!
The Honey Chipotle Vinaigrette really sends this one over the top and it’s easy to throw together while everything is cooking in the air fryer.

Make Air Fryer Steak Fajitas
First, slice peppers and onions into thin strips. Season with a little bit of olive oil and salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Pour the veggies into an air fryer and cook at 400 degrees for about 13 minutes or until they are cooked to your liking.
While the peppers and onions are cooking, slice the steak into thin slices and season with 1 tbsp of oil, salt, pepper, cumin, dried cilantro, chili powder, and cayenne powder.
Squeeze the juice of one lime over the meat. Stir until the steak is well coated in seasoning.
Remove the peppers and onions from the air fryer and set aside.
Next, add the steak to the hot air fryer. Cook at 400 degrees for about 5-7 minutes or until the steak is cooked to your liking.
Make the Chipotle Vinaigrette
While the steak is cooking in the air fryer, I like to make the vinaigrette. You could also make this ahead of time and have it ready to go in the refrigerator.
Combine two chipotle peppers, red wine vinegar, honey, minced garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, cumin and a little spoonful of the sauce from the chipotle peppers in a food processor.
Start the processor and slowly add in the oil a little bit at a time. Blend together until everything is well combined.
Serve Steak Fajitas
Once the steak and veggies are cooked how you like them, it’s time to eat! Heat up flour tortillas and add a scoop of the peppers, onions, and steak. Top with the Chipotle Vinaigrette and some sour cream. Enjoy!
I served this with some microwaveable cilantro lime rice.
Tips and Frequently Asked Questions
- I used 2 NY strip steaks for this recipe, but you could also use ribeye steak, sirloin, or skirt steak.
- I used 2 large green bell peppers, but any color bell pepper will work for this recipe.
- Be sure to cut the peppers and onion thin and about the same size so they cook evenly in the air fryer.
- I like the blend of seasoning I use on the steak, but you could swap those for a fajita or taco seasoning packet if you don’t want to measure out all of the seasonings.
- You can mix the chipotle vinaigrette with a spoonful of sour cream.
- If you don’t have an air fryer you can just cook the steak and veggies in a large skillet on the stove.
- For the Chipotle Peppers I bought a 7 oz can of La Constena brand Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce. I used 2 full peppers and one spoonful of the sauce for the vinaigrette. Add more peppers to make it extra spicy. You can stir in some sour cream to the sauce to make it less spicy.
- All air fryers seem to cook differenlty, so adjust cooking times as necessary.
