Ingredients

  • Onion
  • Butter
  • Mustard
  • Ground beef (4 patties)
  • McCormick Hamburger Seasoning
  • Burrito size tortillas
  • Crinkle cut fries
  • American Cheese
  • Homemade animal style sauce
Ingredients

Make the Sauce

First, make the homemade animal style sauce for the burritos.

Start by combining ketchup, mayo, mustard, relish, vinegar, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a bowl. Stir all of the ingredients together.

Animal Style Sauce

Once the sauce is made, store it in the refrigerator until you are ready to build the burritos! You can keep it in a bowl or transfer the sauce to a squeeze bottle.

Chop an onion and gather the rest of the ingredients needed for the recipe.

First, cook the bag of fries in an air fryer or oven following the directions on the package.

Heat a griddle over medium-high heat and add the chopped onions to the griddle with butter.

Grilled Onions

Stir well. Let these continue to cook down while the rest of the ingredients cook.

Just keep an eye on them, so they don’t burn. Once cooked you can turn the heat down on the Griddle to low.

Next, add the burger patties to the griddle. Use a burger smasher to smash the burgers into the griddle. Cover the patties in yellow mustard and season with Hamburger seasoning.

Burgers

I’ve been really liking the McCormick Hamburger Seasoning, but if you don’t have it you can season the burgers with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.

Once a nice crust has formed flip the burgers over and let them finish cooking.

Burgers

Use a large spatula to chop the burgers into smaller pieces.

To build the burritos, lay out a large burrito size tortilla.

Add the homemade sauce, a handful of crispy fries, a slice of American cheese, the cooked burger, grilled onions, another slice of cheese, and more of the homemade sauce.

Carefully roll up the burrito and place them on the griddle seam side down. It might also help to warm up your tortillas first, so that they don’t rip.

Cook on medium heat until both sides are golden brown.

Serve Cheeseburger Burritos

Once the burritos are all made and the outside is golden brown, it’s time to eat! I served these with an easy salad kit!

No Griddle? No Problem!

If you don’t have an outdoor griddle or just don’t feel like cooking outside, this recipe can easily be made inside using a couple of large skillets.

I would cook the grilled onions in one skillet and cook the burgers in a second large skillet. If you have a large cast iron skillet, I would recommend using that for the burgers. Once the onions are cooked remove them from the skillet and wipe out the pan.

Once the burritos are made you could use the pan you wiped out to toast the burritos.
