Make Parmesan Garlic Beef and Rice
You will need some bacon for this recipe! If you don’t have any leftover bacon from breakfast start by making that or you could use bacon bits instead of making bacon for this recipe.
To make this simple ground beef and rice meal, start by heating a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add 1 lb of ground beef and spread out evenly in the pan.

Add the chopped onion and season with salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
Once the beef is almost cooked add the minced garlic and add the rinsed Jasmine rice to the center of the skillet and let toast for a couple of minutes.
Add the beef broth to the skillet and stir well. Bring the whole skillet to a quick boil, reduce heat to medium-low, and cover with a lid.
Let the beef and rice cook covered for about 15-20 minutes or until your rice is cooked.

Add the cream cheese, 2-3 tbsp of Parmesan garlic sauce, and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Stir everything together well.
I used Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic Sauce, but you can use your favorite store-bought brand or even make a simple homemade version.
Top with a little bit more cheese and the crumbled bacon.
Cover with the lid to let the cheese melt or pop it in the oven under the broiler for just a few minutes.

Serve One-Pan Ground Beef and Rice
Once the cheese is melted, it’s time to eat! Top with some dried parsley to give the kids something to talk about at the dinner table.
I like serving these easy rice meals with a simple salad or vegetable as a side! It would also be good with roasted broccoli, green beans, or asparagus.

If you have any leftover ground beef and rice, store the meal in an air tight container in the refrigerator. Reheat in the microwave just until warm. If you want to heat it up on the stove you can add a splash of beef broth if needed and warm it over medium heat.
You will love this recipe because it’s an easy one-pan dinner that packs a huge Parmesan garlic flavor! Clean up is super simple since everything cooks in one skillet.
Tips for Success
- I used 1 lb of ground beef, but you could make this recipe with ground turkey, ground chicken, or even chicken breast! Check out my Parmesan Garlic Chicken and Rice recipe to make this meal with chicken breast.
- I have found that Jasmine rice cooks consistently in one-pan beef and rice skillet meals! If you use a different type of rice you may need to let the rice cook longer or add more beef broth.
- If you don’t want to use bottled Parmesan Garlic sauce, it’s easy to make homemade Garlic Parm sauce! Any store-bought sauce or a homemade version will work in this recipe.
- If you don’t have leftover bacon from breakfast and don’t feel like cooking bacon, bacon bits would be a good substitute.
- The 2 oz of cream cheese adds richness and a creamy texture, but you can skip it to keep the dish lighter.
- This dish was not spicy, but if you don’t want any heat be sure to go light on the sauce. If too much is used it could end up spicy.

Frequently Asked Questions
What rice works best in ground beef and rice skillet meals?
From testing several of these rice skillet meals, I’ve found that Jasmine rice cooks consistently. It cooks fairly quickly (about 20 minutes), absorbs flavors, and stays nice and tender. You can use regular long grain white rice instead, but it may need to cook a little bit longer or need a little bit more beef broth.
Why rinse the rice?
I always rinse jasmine rice before cooking it. Rinsing the rice will help remove excess starch and result in fluffier rice instead of sticky rice. Just be sure to drain the rice well before adding it to the recipe.
What can I use instead of ground beef?
You can swap the ground beef for ground turkey, ground chicken, or even cut up chicken breasts if you don’t want to use ground beef in this recipe.
Can I make Parmesan Garlic Beef and Rice without the cream cheese?
The cream cheese adds a nice rich creaminess to the rice, but you can certainly leave it out! It will still be delicious!
Is Parmesan Garlic Beef and Rice spicy?
The Buffalo Wild Wings Parmesan Garlic sauce does add a little bit of spice to this recipe! The cream cheese helps keep it mild enough that my kids can eat it without any complaints.
To make this without any spice, use a different bottled sauce or make it homemade! You could also add more cream cheese to tone down the heat.
