Make BBQ Cheeseburger Sliders
To start making this easy slider recipe, you will need to prep just a couple of your ingredients!
If you don’t have bacon leftover from breakfast, start with making bacon first. I prefer to bake bacon in the oven at 400 degrees F on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper. It usually bakes for about 20-25 minutes or until it is cooked to your liking!
Next, measure out your seasonings for the beef and shred cheese if you are shredding it yourself!
Cook 1 lb of ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
Once the ground beef is browned, drain any extra grease from the skillet. Add the minced garlic and BBQ sauce. Stir everything together well.
Slice King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls in half and put the bottom of the rolls in a greased baking dish or on a sheet pan.
Add a layer of pepper jack cheese. Add the ground beef on top of the cheese. Top the ground beef with shredded colby jack cheese, some crumbled bacon, and crispy fried onions.
Finally, top the sliders with a little bit more BBQ sauce if desired!
Put the tops of the slider rolls on and brush them with melted butter.
Sprinkle some sesame seeds on top. I used enough sesame seeds to cover the tops, but you can use as many or as little as you’d like.
Bake the easy cheeseburger sliders at 350 degrees F for about 10-15 minutes.
Serve BBQ Cheeseburger Sliders
Once the cheese is melted and the tops are starting to brown, it’s time to eat!
I served these with some fries and an easy salad kit on the side.
You will love these cheesy burger sliders because they are made with simple ingredients, easy to make, and won’t mess up your whole kitchen!
Tips and Frequently Asked Questions
- A tip for slicing King’s Hawaiian Roll Sliders is to try to keep your knuckles on the counter while cutting the rolls in half. Using a large serrated knife also helps!
- I used pepper jack cheese and freshly shredded colby jack cheese for this recipe, but cheddar cheese or American cheese would also be good on these!
- For some heat, add some jalapenos or use a spicy BBQ Sauce.
- I used a 12 count package of King’s Hawaiian rolls and these sliders were loaded! To stretch ingredients and serve more people you could split the meat mixture between two packs of rolls and use more cheese to make more sliders.
- I used French’s Crispy Fried onions in this recipe to keep it simple.
- For more of an onion flavor you could also add a small chopped onion to the ground beef mixture.
