Beef Stroganoff
Beef Stroganoff is an easy dinner recipe that can be made in about 30 minutes.
I like this recipe for beef stroganoff because it doesn’t use any “cream of” soups, like most recipes call for. Add a vegetable as a side and you’ve got an easy complete meal! Leftovers also reheat well.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper
- 1 tsp each of Italian seasoning and onion powder
- 1 TBSP minced garlic
- 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 10 oz medium egg noodles
- Fresh or dried parsley
Make Beef Stroganoff
To start making this recipe, heat a large pot of water and cook the medium egg noodles according to the directions of the package. I measured out 10 oz of uncooked noodles to use for this recipe.
Next, heat a large skillet over medium high heat. I used my 12 in cast iron skillet.
Add one pound of ground beef and a chopped onion to the skillet. Season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and onion powder. Stir everything together well.
Once the beef is cooked through, drain any extra grease.
Turn the heat down to medium. Add 1 tbsp of minced garlic and 2 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce. Stir everything together well.
Add 3 tbsp of butter to the skillet. Once the butter is melted add 3 tbsp of flour. Stir together and let cook for at least one minute.
Next, add 2 cups of beef broth and stir well. Let this continue cooking until it thickens. It helps to keep stirring as it thickens.
Once the mixture has thickened remove the skillet from the heat and stir in 1 cup of sour cream. Add the cooked egg noodles and stir everything together well.
Serve Beef Stroganoff
Once the ground beef mixture and egg noodles are all mixed together, top with some fresh or dried parsley and serve! I like to have some kind of a vegetable as a side with this meal. Green beans, some roasted broccoli, or even a salad would all be good options.
This is also one of those meals that I just have to have butter bread with.

This was great! I over added the Worsheshire sauce (as always), but it was a hit!! Thank you
So happy to hear you liked it!
This is so good! My husband hates mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup. I have been wanting beef stroganoff and it taste just like it. Really good flavors.
Happy to hear that!
If I wanted to use a steak instead what kind would be best
Made this tonight for dinner. We just loved it. I think I went a little bit heavy on the garlic because I used fresh cloves, but what the heck garlic is good for you anyway. I’ll use fewer next time.
Soooo good. I made some Pillsbury crescent rolls and some green beans on the side. Everyone loved it… even my 5 year old (pickiest eater ever)!!
Happy to hear everyone loved it!
