Cheese Burger Foil Packets are an easy and delicious dinner idea that my family loves making and eating all summer long!
The options are really endless with foil packets, but our favorite is probably ground beef patties, potatoes, carrots, onions, topped with Texas Roadhouse Gold sauce, and some shredded Colby Jack cheese.

Make Cheese Burger Foil Packets
To start making this recipe, prep all of your ingredients.
First, scrub and chop 4 medium/large potatoes into small cubes. Chop an onion and slice about 1/2 a bag of baby carrots in half lengthwise.
Take one pound of ground beef and form it into 4 patties.
Lay out a couple of pieces of aluminum foil. Add one chopped potato, a handful of onion and some baby carrots. Drizzle the potatoes and veggies with a little bit of olive oil.
Next, season with a little bit of steak seasoning. I like to use Montreal Steak Seasoning or Strawberry’s Grand Champion Steak Seasoning. Any of your favorite seasoning will work with this recipe.
Top with a burger patty and season with a little bit more steak seasoning. Top the burger with a drizzle of Texas Roadhouse Gold Sauce.
Next, wrap aluminum foil up tightly. Repeat until all 4 foil packets are assembled.
Heat a grill over medium heat. Place foil packets on the grill and cook for about 20-25 minutes or until the ground beef is fully cooked and the veggies are tender.
Lastly, open the foil packet and add some shredded Colby Jack cheese. Be sure to be careful when opening the foil packet. They release a lot of steam!
Once the burgers are topped with cheese, place the packets back on the grill to melt the cheese if needed.
Serve Cheese Burger Foil Packets
Once the cheese is melted, it’s time to eat! I like to top these off with a little bit more Texas Roadhouse Gold sauce.

- Cook the foil packets until the ground beef patties reach an internal temperature of at least 165 degrees F with an internal meat thermometer.

- Make sure to wrap the foil tightly when making the foil packets.

I made these for my family and they were a huge hit!!! I’ll definitely be making these a lot more often. Very easy and affordable! And that sauce is to die for! Thank you for posting this recipe!!!!!! (Oh and I almost forgot to say, I added some peeled and cubed up sweet potatoes with the regular potatoes and it turned out so good!) 😋
These were good. I use to make something similar in Scouts and was it nice to have again. Unfortunately we had a thunder storm roll through right before I was going to put them on grill so had to put in the oven. I made 8 but I would recommend 425 for 30 mins at least to get the burgers and vegetables done if you are using the oven.
Thank you for this. I was wondering about the oven. Debating if I should wait for my husband to do them on the grill or if I should just do them in the oven!!
Did you bake them in the oven. If so what temperature and how long.
Thank you
I like grilling these, but they can also be cooked in the oven at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until the veggies are tender and the meat is cooked through.
The one picture looked like it had sliced zucchini in the vegetables too is there other vegetables that could be added
