Ingredients

  • 2 Strip Steaks
  • Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 24 oz baby potatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Chopped green onions

Make Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Smashed Potatoes

To start making this easy recipe, bring a pot of water to a boil on the stove. Boil the baby potatoes just until they are fork tender.

Heat the griddle over medium heat and add the boiled potatoes to the griddle with some oil.

Smashed Potatoes

Use a spatula to smash the potatoes onto the griddle. Add a little bit more oil over the top of the smashed potatoes and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Keep flipping the potatoes until they are crispy.

Cut the strip steak into cubes. Add the steak to the other side of the griddle and season with some steak seasoning. I like using Montreal Steak seasoning, but any steak seasoning you like will work.

For my family two strip steaks is enough, but I suggest you use however many steaks you would normally need to feed your family!

Once the steak is cooked to your liking turn off the heat on the griddle and add a couple of tbsp of butter and 1 tbsp of minced garlic. Stir well.

Serve Garlic Butter Steak Bites and Smashed Potatoes

Once the steak is cooked to your liking and the potatoes are nice and crispy, top the potatoes with a handful of shredded cheddar cheese and the chopped green onions. I served this meal with an easy chopped salad kit!

I melted a couple of tablespoons of butter and added 1 tsp each of garlic powder and dried parsley for dipping the steak in but that is completely optional! I also served it with some ranch dressing for the cheesy potatoes!
