Make One Pan Cheeseburger Rice

To start making this easy skillet meal, measure out your seasonings and chop one onion.

Next, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Seasoned ground beef with onions in a skillet

Brown 1 lb of ground beef with chopped onion. Season with salt, pepper, ground mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.

Drain any extra grease from the meat.

Next, add the minced garlic, ketchup, mustard, and pickle juice. Stir well.

Skillet of ground beef, rice, tomato sauce, mustard

Add the uncooked (rinsed) rice, beef broth, and the can of tomato sauce to the skillet. Stir well.

I like making all of my rice skillet meals with Jasmine rice because through testing the recipes I have found that it cooks the best.

You can use regular white rice, but you may need to cook the rice longer or add extra liquid.

Bring the whole skillet to a quick boil then turn the heat down to medium-low.

Cover with a lid and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until your rice is cooked.

Once the rice is cooked add about 1 cup of cheese, stir, and top with a little bit more.

Let sit until the cheese melts or pop it in the oven under broil for just a minute.

Top with chopped green onions. If you aren’t a fan of green onions, dried parsley is also good on top of the rice!

Serve Cheeseburger Rice

Once the cheese is melted and you’ve topped it with some chopped green onions, it’s time to eat! I like serving Cheeseburger Rice with a salad or some kind of vegetable on the side.
