Bacon Cheese Burger Gnocchi
Bacon Cheeseburger Gnocchi is an easy one pan 30 minute dinner recipe the whole family really likes! It doesn’t get better than ground beef, onions, gnocchi, cheese, and crispy bacon! This recipe comes together pretty quickly.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper
- 1 tsp each of onion powder and paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 18 oz package shelf stable gnocchi
- 1 cup shredded Colby Jack cheese
- 4 slices bacon (cooked & chopped)
- Green onions
Prep Bacon Cheeseburger Gnocchi
To start making this easy dish, gather all ingredients needed for the recipe. Start by cooking the bacon first. I like to cook the bacon in the oven at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.
Make sure you have a pound of ground beef thawed. Chop the onion and measure out all seasonings.
Make Bacon Cheeseburger Gnocchi
Once your bacon is just about finished cooking go ahead and brown one pound of ground beef in a skillet over medium high heat. Once the bacon is cooked drain the grease and chop into small pieces.
Add the chopped onion, salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne. Stir everything together and cook until the meat is browned.
Once meat is cooked through drain any extra grease. Add the minced garlic, tomato sauce, beef broth, heavy cream, and the gnocchi.
Stir everything well. Once it starts bubbling, cover with a lid, and lower the heat to medium low. Cook for about 5 minutes covered.
Remove the lid and check to make sure the gnocchi is tender. Stir everything well. Top with shredded Colby Jack cheese and cooked chopped bacon.
Let sit on the stove covered until the cheese melts or pop on the oven for just a few minutes to melt the cheese. I prefer to put it in the oven for just a few minutes since I usually use a cast iron skillet.
Serve the Dish
Once the cheese is melted it’s time to eat! Top with some chopped green onions and enjoy! I served this with some roasted broccoli.

Tips and Frequently Asked Questions
- I usually use Great Value brand shelf stable Gnocchi, but you can use any brand you like or make it homemade.
- I prefer to shred the Colby Jack cheese from a block for a creamier consistency.
- Freshly minced garlic or the jarred minced garlic will work for this recipe.
- For the bacon I like cooking it in the oven at 400 degrees for about 20-25 minutes on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper for easy clean up. You could also chop the bacon and cook it in the skillet before browning the ground beef.

I made this recipe for 3 friends and my daughter for Christmas along with a loaf of fresh homemade Italian Herb bread. They all LOVED IT. I made it fresh the day before we all met up. Did not put the cheese on it but did grate it and put it in small containers for them. It didn’t last more than 2 days with any of them. Two even asked for recipe. Thanks for sharing.
This was delicious! I had a box of gnocchi to use and gave this a try. I cook meals for my Mom who has Alzheimers and has trouble chewing some meats. Needed something new and tasty and this was perfect. The only change I made was using a Tastefully Simple seasoned salt in place of the salt and pepper. Thank you!
This was very good and will make again
Happy to hear you liked it!
