Creamy Steak and Gnocchi

This creamy steak and gnocchi skillet meal is easy to make and delicious! Once all ingredients are prepped, this meal comes together pretty quickly! I based this recipe off of my popular creamy chicken and gnocchi recipe and it turned out so good!

Ingredients

  • 2 Ribeye Steaks sliced into cubes
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  • Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 2 TBSP of minced garlic
  • 1 cup of chicken broth
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 cup of Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp each of oregano, thyme, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper
  • 1/3 cup of chopped sun dried tomatoes
  • 1 18oz pack of shelf stable gnocchi

How to Make the Steak

To make Creamy Steak and Gnocchi, start by slicing two rib-eye steaks into cubes. I also trimmed off some of the extra fat as I was doing this. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees for about five minutes.

Season the steak with 1 tbsp of olive oil and steak seasoning. I like to use Montreal Steak Seasoning (amazon affiliate link), but you can use any steak seasoning you like! I also don’t use exact measurements for the seasoning just be sure to season the steak well.

Once the steak is well coated in oil and seasoning, add the streak to the hot air fryer and cook at 400 degrees for 5-7 minutes. In my air fryer 7 minutes is perfect for my family, but I would suggest starting with 5 minutes and checking a piece of steak. Cut open one of the cubes of steak and see how it is cooked. You can always cook for an additional couple of minutes if needed.

How to Cook the Gnocchi

Once the steak is cooking in the air fryer add 2 tbsp of butter to a skillet over medium heat.

As the butter starts to melt add some minced garlic and stir together. Once butter is completely melted add the cup of chicken broth and heavy cream.

I like to stir continuously for a couple of minutes while the cream starts to bubble. Add the shredded Parmesan cheese and keep stirring. For the Parmesan cheese, I like to shred my own as I feel like it melts smoother.

Once the Parmesan cheese is well incorporated, season with salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Let this bubble for a few minutes and keep stirring.

Next, add the package of gnocchi (uncooked) to the sauce. Stir everything together well and cover with a lid. Let the gnocchi cook for about 3 minutes or until it is cooked through and tender. I used an almost 18 oz package of shelf stable gnocchi, but you could also use frozen or make your own!

Serve Creamy Steak and Gnocchi

By this time, the steak, gnocchi, and the sauce should all be finished cooking and it is time to eat! I like to top the gnocchi with the cooked steak. Top the dish with more shredded Parmesan cheese and some dried or fresh parsley.

This recipe is perfect with some roasted broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, or even a salad! Tonight we kept it simple and roasted some broccoli in the oven.
