Ingredients
- 2 packages kielbasa (or any sausage)
- 2 bell peppers, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Oil
- Heath Riles Garlic Butter Seasoning
- 19 oz bag frozen tortellini
- Water
- Italian dressing
- Parmesan cheese
Make Kielbasa, Tortellini, and Veggies
There really isn’t much prep work for this recipe, which is one of the reasons I love it! Slice two bell peppers (any color) and an onion.
Next, slice up two packages of Kielbasa or your family’s favorite sausage.
Heat a griddle over medium-high heat. Add a little bit of oil to the griddle with the sliced kielbasa, peppers, and onions. I like to keep the kielbasa separate from the veggies. Season the peppers and onions with Heath Riles Garlic Butter Seasoning.
This seasoning is so good on chicken, steak, burgers, and veggies! It has quickly become one of my favorite all purpose seasonings
Once the kielbasa, peppers, and onions are cooked how you like them stir them all together on one side of the griddle.
Next, add one bag of frozen cheese tortellini to the other side of the griddle. Pour about 1/2 cup of water over the frozen tortellini and cover with a griddle dome.
Let cook until the tortellini is tender. Stir the tortellini after about four minutes and add more water if needed to help them cook.
I’ve found that frozen tortellini cooks the best on the griddle compared to refrigerated or shelf stable tortellini.
Stir together the tortellini, peppers, onions, and kielbasa.
Finally, add just enough Italian dressing to coat the tortellini. I like using the Olive Garden brand Italian dressing, but you can use your favorite kind! Stir everything together well.
Serve Kielbasa, Tortellini, and Veggies
Once everything is cooked, it’s time to eat! I like to put everything on a serving platter and top it with shredded Parmesan cheese.
This is one of those recipes that doesn’t really need any sides, but you could make some garlic bread or bread sticks and even a salad to go with it!
Leftovers reheat well making any leftovers great for lunch the next day!
No Griddle? No Problem!
If you don’t have a griddle this can definitely be made inside on the stove! I would cook the kielbasa, peppers, and onions in a large skillet. Boil the tortellini in a pot of water following the directions on the package.
Next, drain the cheese tortellini and combine everything in the skillet. Top with Italian dressing and Parmesan cheese!
