Make Mini Meatloaf Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls

To start making your meatloaf mixture, in a large bowl, grab a large bowl and add 2 lbs of ground beef.

Next, add all of your meatloaf ingredients.

Add 1 small chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, an egg, Italian bread crumbs, and ketchup.

Meatloaf Mixture

Season the ground beef mixture with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and smoked paprika.

Gently mix together all ingredients with your hands. Form meatloaf mixture into 16 mini slider sized patties.

Be sure not to overly press the meat, so the patties don’t get tough.

Mini Meatloaf Patties

Place the mini meatloaf patties on a wire rack on a sheet pan. I like to line my sheet pan with parchment paper for easy clean up.

If you don’t have a wire rack you can bake these right on the sheet pan, but I prefer to use the rack so that the grease drains away from the meat as it cooks.

Next, make the delicious glaze for the meatloaf.

In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, bbq sauce, and mustard.

Mini Meatloaf Patties and glaze

Spread the sauce mixture over the tops of each meatloaf patty.

Use a spoon to add a spoonful of the glaze to each patty and spread it out with the back of the spoon.

Once each mini meatloaf is topped, it’s time to bake them!

Glazed Mini Meatloaf Patties before baking

The mini meatloaf will bake at 400 degrees F for about 30-35 minutes, or until the beef is fully cooked and reaches an internal temp of 165 degrees F with a meat thermometer.

While the meatloaf is baking, prep your slider buns.

Spread mayo or butter on the insides of Hawaiian Slider Buns.

Toast them in a skillet until they are nice and golden brown.

I like these on the Hawaiian rolls sliders, but you can use any slider buns your family likes.

Serve Mini Meatloaf Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls

Once the buns are toasted, it’s time to eat! Place the mini meatloaf sliders on the toasted slider buns.

I like topping these with some onions and pickles, but you can top with any of your favorite toppings.

I served these Meatloaf Sliders with a Caesar salad and some mashed potatoes.

Plated Mini Meatloaf Slider on Hawaiian Rolls

You will love this recipe because they have all of the classic comfort food flavors of meatloaf, but are in a fun mini slider!

The mini size, sweet glaze, and Hawaiian Slider buns help even the pickiest of eaters enjoy meatloaf. My kids enjoy meatloaf sliders way more than they would classic meatloaf.

These mini meatloaf patties also reheat really well.

Tips and Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Meatloaf patties were fully cooked in my oven at 400 degrees after 30-35 minutes, but all ovens cook differently. I recommend checking the internal temp with a meat thermometer after 30 minutes and cooking longer if needed. The internal temp should be at least 165 degrees.
  • Serve meatloaf sandwiches on toasted slider buns or rolls your family likes. The original Hawaiian rolls would also be good.
  • Cooking the patties on a wire rack helps them not cook directly in the grease released from the ground beef.
  • Be sure not to overwork the meat mixture as you are mixing and making the patties. Overworking the beef can make the sliders dense and tough.
  • If you don’t want to make Mini sliders, I also have a Meatloaf Patty Sandwich recipe on regular buns.
