These Sausage and Cheese Waffles are easy to make and so good! If you like the sweet and savory breakfast combo this recipe is for you.

We like keeping these in the freezer for an easy breakfast prep. My kids call these Mcgraffles and love them!

Use your favorite brand pancake mix or make homemade pancakes and mix in some cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, and maple syrup to make the waffles.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Hungry Jack Pancake Mix
  • 1 1/2 cups of water
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Make Sausage and Cheese Waffles

To start making this easy breakfast recipe, brown 1 lb of breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium high heat. Once the sausage is fully cooked, drain the grease really well and set aside.

Next, mix pancake mix with water according to the directions on the box. Stir in cooked sausage, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, and 1/4 cup maple syrup.

Pancake Mix

Spray a mini waffle iron and add a scoop of the pancake mix. Cook in waffle iron until the waffles are golden brown.

I am using a Mini Waffle Maker found on Amazon, but any waffle iron should work with this recipe. If your waffle iron is larger, you will just end up with less waffles.

Repeat until all of the waffles are made.

As the waffles sit they will start to crisp up, but If you want crispier waffles you can toast them in a toaster too!

Serve Sausage and Cheese Waffles

Once the waffles are made, it’s time to eat! Serve with more maple syrup and enjoy! I also like to give my kids some fresh fruit with these.

    1. I recommend making the eggs in the waffle maker as well! Less dishes and the egg is the same size. 😊
