Sliders are always an easy dinner that my family loves! These Cheesy Marinara Chicken Sliders are easy to make and so good!
I like to make the chicken in the crockpot, so at dinner time all I have to do is put together the sliders and bake them until the cheese is melted.

Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breast
- 1/2 tsp each of salt and pepper
- 1 tsp each of onion powder and Italian seasoning
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 TBSP minced garlic
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 12 pack Kings Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
- Mozzarella slices
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
- Frenchโs crispy fried onions
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp each garlic powder and parsley
Make the Chicken
Start this recipe by spraying a crockpot with cooking spray and adding one pound of chicken breast. Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
Next, add 1 tbsp of minced garlic and 2 cups of Marinara sauce. My favorite is Rao’s Marinara, but you can use whatever you already have in your pantry!
The chicken will cook in the crockpot on low for 4-6 hours. Once the chicken is fully cooked and reaches at least 165 degrees with a meat thermometer, you can shred the chicken with two forks or a hand mixer.
Build the Sliders
To make the sliders, use a large knife to slice open the King’s Hawaiian Sweet Slider Rolls. Lay down a layer of Mozzarella cheese slices and top the cheese with the shredded chicken mixture.
I did not use all of the chicken mixture on the sliders. The rest can be saved for another recipe. The leftover chicken makes awesome quesadillas with mozzarella cheese! The chicken mixture would also freeze well.
Top the chicken with a little bit of shredded mozzarella cheese. You can use as much or as little as you’d like. I like to top all of this with French’s Crispy Fried Onions! I just used a couple of handfuls.
Place the tops of the rolls on the sliders.
Next, melt 4 tbsp of butter and stir in 1 tsp each of garlic powder and parsley.
Brush the butter mixture all over the tops of the sliders. These will bake uncovered at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes.
You really just want to bake them until the cheese is melted and the tops of the sliders to start to get toasty!
Serve Cheesy Marinara Chicken Sliders
Once the cheese is melted, it’s time to eat! I served these with some homemade air fryer potato wedges. They would also be good with a salad or some roasted vegetables.
These are good dipped in more marinara sauce or even some ranch dressing.
