Make Bacon Cheddar Jalapeño Pinwheels
To start making this recipe, let the cream cheese set out while you prep the bacon and other ingredients. The softened cream cheese makes it so much easier to stir everything together.
First, cook bacon, drain grease, and chop into small pieces. My favorite way to cook bacon is in the oven at 400 degrees on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper. It bakes for 20-25 minutes and always turns out perfect!
Next, heat your smoker or oven to 375 degrees F.
Once you’ve prepped all of the ingredients, in a bowl combine softened cream cheese, chopped jalapeños, shredded cheese, and chopped bacon. Stir everything together until the mixture is well combined.
Next, roll out the crescent roll dough into two long rectangular sheets. Pinch together any seams and spread cream cheese mixture evenly over both.
For the next step, start on one end of the roll the dough and roll it up tightly. Cut each roll into 16 pieces. Repeat for the other roll of dough.
Finally, spray a sheet pan with cooking spray and place pinwheels on the sheet pan. It helps to squish the pinwheels just a little bit when placing them on a sheet pan to help shape them.
For the final step, smoke at 375 degrees F for about 15-20 minutes. If you prefer to bake them, bake in an oven at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.
Serve Smoked Bacon Cheddar Jalapeno Pinwheels
After the jalapeño pinwheels are cooked, it’s time to eat! These make an awesome appetizer for any family gathering or for game day appetizers!
I like making these with crockpot sausage Rotel dip, and crockpot meatballs and little smokies.
